On May 12, took place in the town of Lambesc, a major seismic risk exercise. It  aimed to test the Plan Communal de Sauvegarde made by the municipal staff in 2004. The scenario of the operation was based on the disaster that took place 100 years earlier: magnitude 6 on the Richter scale earthquake of which damaged a large part of the city.

For the occasion, the KTI had installed in two crisis rooms (Lambesc and communauté du pays d’aix) a systems decision support and a real-time information monitoring which can be use during crisis. These tools based on GIS (Geographic Information Systems) show on a map all the information that we need for crisis management. All the actors of the simulation have been "pleasantly surprised" by the value of having such a tool in case of major disaster.
